Description
SiteMinder’s booking engine is a direct channel for hoteliers, and besides being a booking platform for visitors, it should also be branded and attractive. With new booking engines emerging globally with various theming and layout capabilities, SiteMinder had to provide a flexible and adaptable website interface to allow hotels to create a seamless brand experience.
Key Steps
- Market Research
- Layouts and theming components
- Prototypes
- Responsive and SEO considerations
- Multi-Language support
- Hi-fi designs
- Collaborations, tests and QA
Process
Market research and global web standards and trends. Understand how and what interfaces work globally, what is important for hoteliers, and where we should focus our efforts first.
Design semi-fidelity layouts, test and adapt based on customer and internal feedback sessions. Consider time-to-market and high-value, low-risk items. Lean Canvas and other tools kept the project at bay.
We had to consider three users. The hotelier, customer and our business. Using journey maps, service design, and task-sorting techniques helped us keep the project at bay.
Outcome
Various themes and styles allow hotels to have a branded website and allow customers to book rooms quickly and efficiently.
