Grid system skeleton

Grid systems

Description

As part of our modernisation and consolidation of products, grids, and a primary interface used daily for managing bookings and distributions, we needed to develop a consistent framework for both rapid development processes and a consistent and familiar user experience.

The grids had to support various languages and currencies, so using a ‘default’ font wasn’t an option. Our grids also had to be skinned, themed, scaled, and adapted to the various applications and user requirements.

Key Steps

  • Design Audit
  • Functionality Audit
  • Research and workshops
  • Low-fi/ Hi-fi concepts
  • Prototypes
  • QA

Process

We are auditing our entire product landscape and grid usage, including how customers use the grids, the main objectives, the pain points, the technologies available, accessibility concerns, scale and growth.

Design various grids based on strict UI guidelines for rapid design changes and low development cycles.

Build prototypes, test and iterate. Add skinning and theming capabilities for customer-facing interfaces.

Outcome

A solid grid system based on simple design principles and low-code requirements enabled us to add features and adapt the grids to our various products, businesses, and customer requirements.
